Abstract
This study was to analyze logically several discourses concerning the identity of Taekwondo. This study is divided into two categories of history and practice to point out the limit of the existing research. The problem of historical identity means the conflict inherent in the relationship between Taekwondo and Karate, in which the former may have been influenced by the latter, or not. In spite of similarity in form, the originality of Taekwondo is found the uniqueness of movement form itself, because Taekwondo has an already new standard which differs from other military arts, regardless of possible historical influence. Otherwise, the problem of practical identity was developed through the discussion; is Taekwondo a military art or sport? This generated a lot of confusion together with the relationship between Pumsae and Competition. Generally, it has been recognized that the value of Taekwondo as a military art has collapsed for the development of Taekwondo as a sport. However, the difference of Taekwondo as a military art and as a sport might be interpreted as systematical differentiation and development of techniques in Taekwondo. In a word, the practical identity of Taekwondo is divided into two disciplines of military arts and sport. Therefore, new paradigm in the field of Taekwondo philosophy should be based on the analysis of the movement form, and the content of Taekwondo will be more abundant according to these changes in recognition.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the problem with women’s semi-professional tennis to provide base material regarding future vitalization measures. Accordingly, in-depth interviews conducted with women commercial tennis players and supplement research material was referred to and analyzed. As a result of this study, it was found that when women tennis players compete, their competitiveness and efforts to improve athletic performance decrease when competing players remain the same and tournament results do not change much. It can be pointed out that this is happening because the Korea Semi-professional Tennis Federation has made competition participation standards high, limiting player opportunities to compete against various levels. Second, although women players were desperately feeling the need for coaches, because commercial teams were established for the National Sports Festival, it has been shown that there were difficulties appropriating coach's salary with local city and province budgets. Also, because even coach hiring forms are unstable as they are made on a contract basis, it seems forceful to voice opinions regarding coach designations. Third, it could be seen that because the Korean team system places importance on team competition results, it shows tendencies of a team sport, despite the fact that tennis is an individual sport. Because team unity and sacrificing one’s self for the team is held to be important, such tendencies are causing side effects where women Semi-professional tennis players are having difficulties managing their own conditions.

Abstract
This article explored the way in which the problem of outdated municipal baseball stadiums was emerged as a national policy agenda and its related laws were amended as a result of the policy change with the application of Kingdon(1984)'s policy stream framework. Particular attention was paid to mechanism of the policy change process. Policy implications derived from the study in terms of conclusion are as follows: first, it is clear that Korean baseball teams' very successful results in Beijing and the 2nd World Baseball Classic as dramatic events played a crucial role in leading a policy problem regarding the problem of the out-of-date local baseball stadiums; second, following the recent great successes of Korean baseball teams at the Olympics and WBC change in public opinion, baseball boom, the formation of political ideology and changes of heads of KBO and KBA created a politics stream; third, both Korean Baseball Development Executive Committee and Korean Baseball Development Research-center developed a policy alternative stream by producing specific policy alternatives and ideas; and fourth, the role and effort of Kang, Seung-kyu, a lawmaker of the ruling party and head of the KBA, as a policy entrepreneur enabled to open a window of policy which ended in the amendments of the ‘National Sports Promotion Law’ and ‘Sports Industry Promotion Law’ as the result of the policy change.

Obesity and chronic diseases are recognized as major public health issues worldwide. Since the risk factors for such diseases can track from early childhood, it is important to take preventive actions as early in life as possible. Countries such as the America, United Kingdom (UK), and Canada has developed physical activity guidelines for children and adolescents as one of the strategies on a government policy level to promote physical activity and prevent incidence of chronic diseases. Physical activity guidelines encourage regular participation in physical activity for health promotion and disease prevention. In Korea, the incidence and prevalence of obesity and chronic diseases are dramatically increasing, however, no government policy level of strategy exists and limited evidence are available to develop physical activity guideline for children and adolescents. Therefore, the purpose of the current study is to 1) review the development background and process, and contents of physical activity guidelines for children and adolescents in the America, UK, and Canada; 2) critically review the current physical activity guideline developed from National Medical Center (2010); and 3) discuss future strategy to develop physical activity guideline for Korean children and adolescents.

Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the interaction effects of gender and class types on students` attitude toward physical education, self-efficacy, and outcome expectancy as well as the relationships between these variables. The participants were 716 middle school students (376 boys, 340 girls). Multivariate analysis with 2×2 factorial design and correlation analysis were conducted. The results of MANOVA indicated that the interaction effects of gender and class types were significant in enjoyment, perceived usefulness, and outcome expectancy, but were insignificant in self-efficacy. Correlation analysis showed that two dimensions of attitude toward physical education were positively associated with each of self-efficacy and outcome expectancy. In conclusion, the results imply that physical educators should try to facilitate a positive attitude toward physical education for female students in same-sex classes and recognize them to be able to get a desirable outcome from physical activities.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of perceived peer motivational climate on intrinsic motivation (IM) and physical activity intention in elementary school students for Taekwondo participants. Self-reported measures were conducted in a sample of 310 elementary students participating in Teakwondo, and then, correlation among variables and multiple regression analysis revealed that a task-involving peer motivational climate was the best predictor of IM and physical activity intention of participants in Taekwondo. The results demonstrated that a task-involving peer motivational climate positively affected IM, while a ego-involving peer motivational climate positively predicted students' tension/anxiety. These findings highlight the importance of motivational climate among peers that facilitate students' intrinsic motivation and future physical activity, thereby increasing the likelihood of adaptive peer motivational climate, specifically task-involving climate among peers in the sport context.

Abstract
We investigated the effects of regular treadmill exercise for 6 weeks on Mn-SDO, Cu, Zn-SOD protein levels and apoptosis in the streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat hippocampus. Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups: (1) NCG (n=10); (2) NEG (n=10); (3) DCG (n=10); (4) DEG (n=10). Diabetes was induced by injecting streptozotocin (STZ; 55mg/kg dissolved in 0.05M citrate buffer, p.H 4.5, i.p.) into rats. Rats were subjected to treadmill exercise for 5 days a week over 6 weeks, and the speed of the treadmill was gradually increased. Mn-SDO, Cu,Zn-SOD protein levels significantly decreased DCG. Also, Apoptosis by Tunel assay showed a significant induction in apoptosis increased in the DCG. Whereas decreased apoptosis and significant increases in Mn-SDO, Cu,Zn-SOD expression levels significantly was decreased and apoptosis significantly is increased in the hippocampus of STZ-diabetic rats(DCG), but treadmill exercise(DEG) significantly increased expression of Mn-SOD and Cu,Zn-SOD, and decreased apoptosis compare to DCG. These results show that exercise may improves function of the hippocampus via increase Mn-SDO and Cu,Zn-SOD expression levels and suppression of apoptosis in the the hippocampus of STZ-induced diabetic rats.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of forest exercise on the daily activity-related physical function and balance in the elderly. The subjects (n=41) were assigned to 2 groups: forest exercise (FE) group (n=21, 67.86±3.29 yrs) and In-door exercise (IE) group (n=20, 67.29±3.20). The subjects were asked to participate in FE program or IE program (3 times/week, 80min/day) for 12 weeks. The subjects were tested on physical function and balance at the beginning and the end of the 12-weeks program. For data analysis, mean and standard deviation scores were calculated, and independent t-test and two-way ANOVA were used. After 12-weeks training program, the result of this study were as follow: First, FE group was more improved than IE group on daily activity- related physical function(lower-body muscular strength, lower-body flexibility, mobility, aerobic endurance) and dynamic balance. Second, even though both groups showed improvements on daily activity-related physical function (upper-body muscular strength, upper-body flexibility, BMI), both groups did not show any change on static balance, Therefore, this study may suggest that forest exercise based on sensory-motor functional training improves daily activity-related physical function and dynamic balance in the elderly efficiently, and further becomes an effective exercise method that increases activities of life, and prevents from falling.

Abstract
This study was to investigate the effects of exercise type on functional fitness and fall in female patients with Parkinson’s disease. Subjects were 25 female patients in 1 to 3 Hoehn and Yahr stage of Parkinson’s disease at D hospital at Busan, Korea. The subjects were divided into two groups, strength exercise group (SEG: n=12) and balance exercise group (BEG: n=13). Strength exercise and balance exercise were performed at RPE 11 to 15 for 12 weeks. The program was consisted of 45 to 70 min/session and 3 times/week. Most of functional fitness were not significantly different between groups. The number and fear of fall was not altered after exercise in both groups. The sensory limitation in the balance ability was not also changed by exercise in both groups. There was a significant interaction in a quick left/right shift velocity and slow sway velocity in motor limitation and COG sway velocity of sitting to standing in the functional limitation. Slow sway velocity was significantly decreased (p< .01) in BEG, but not in SEG. BEG showed a significant increase in COG (p< .001), SEG did not. Therefore, patients with Parkinson’s disease can have benefits from these exercises.
